Court Booking Rules
In accordance with its By-laws (KTC By-laws), members who are in violation of the Court Booking Rules or repeatedly disregard Court Usage and Rules of Play (found here) may have their membership suspended or cancelled.
-
The use of member email addresses provided by KTC is strictly intended for communicating about tennis matches. Please respect the privacy of our members.
-
The courts are available for booking from 7:00am to 10:00pm. When playing early or late in the day, be considerate of our neighbours and keep your voices down. If you are the last to leave the property, be sure to turn off the lights and lock the entrance gate behind you.
-
Courts may be booked up to seven days in advance (from 7:00am onward) by using the CourtReserve online booking system or by contacting a Steward: one hour for singles (two players), one or two hours for doubles (four players). Members may have only one advance booking for a given day.
-
Court bookings must state the names of players who will be on court (singles and doubles). Another member cannot use your name on the booking if you are not playing. For changes to your booking, update the reservation on CourtReserve or notify the Steward.
-
If you cannot attend your reservation, you are required to cancel as early as possible to allow others the opportunity to book the court, ideally with at least 3 hours’ notice. Booked courts are held for 10 minutes after the scheduled start time. If players have not arrived within this grace period, the reservation is forfeited, and the court is released for use by others.
-
Open courts may be booked as a walk-on 60 minutes prior to the start time. Contact a Steward either by phone or in-person. A single player may book a walk-on for serving, stroke practice or using the Court 7 hitting wall.
-
Each member has the privilege of reserving 1 advance court per day, to a maximum of 6 in a 7-day period.
-
Courts 1 and 7 are the teaching courts and have priority for lessons. Your booking may be relocated to another court should one of these courts be required for a lesson.
-
Members may invite guests to play. Each guest is allowed 3 visits per season. Enter the guest’s details in CourtReserve when booking the court. The $20 guest fee will be automatically charged to your account and must be paid prior to playing. If a guest subsequently decides to join, up to three guest fees already paid will be credited against their membership fee.
-
Hitting Wall: Court 7 features a hitting wall for members’ use. A single player can book the hitting wall for half an hour.
-
Ball Machine: available for rent on Courts 1 and 7 during specified hours. A Steward will assist with this reservation. If both courts are available for regular tennis play, the machine will be booked on Court 1. This will enable the hitting wall on Court 7 to be used by other members.
-
Staff on duty will be able to answer questions or assist with bookings. You can also contact the club at (613) 542-2467 or by email at ktc@kingstontennisclub.com.
