The first-ever-held KTC 'Wooden Racquet' tournament (modern era) was a great success. Eleven doubles teams participated with ages ranging from 14 to over 65. It seemed those younger than 50 had to change their style of tennis to suit the racquet. This proved to be a struggle at times. However, those over 50 seemed to play just as well, better even, with a wooden racquet in hand.
Ben Lewis and Jean Cote were the Champions of the tournament, beating Diane Fielding and Bud Nelson in the final.
More importantly, the prize for best dressed woman went to Catherine Nicol and the prize for best dressed man was won by John Fielding. Click here to access the tournament's photo gallery
