The Kingston Tennis Club held its annual Mixed Doubles Championship on the June 18-20 weekend. This year the trophy winners were Jennifer Williams and David Corrigan, who defeated Larischa De Wet and Michael Stych in two tight sets, 6-4 and 7-5, in the A draw.
Defending champions Lisa Coates and David Stocks, in the hardest-fought match of the day, that took a third-set tie break to decide, beat Willa Henry and Craig (Bud) Nelson 6-4, 5-7, 7-6 (3) in the B (Consolation A) draw.
'C' Winners were Erling Armson and Gill Turnbull, who beat Mike Byrne and Lisa Boulay, and in the 'D' category, Tom and Alma Thayer beat Lynne Hanson and Allan Manson.
